is a Patented technology that provides an inexpensive and reliable
solution for resident automation. No other PowerLine carrier
technology can compare to UPB in cost per node and reliability.
Highly Reliable
- The UPB method of communication is 100 ~ 1000 times more reliable than
current X-10 technology. No need to "FIX" the electrical system by
adding couplers, repeaters or filters. UPB is over 99.9% reliable
out of the Box.
No New Wires
- 100% powerline communication. UPB is not limited to line of sight
or subject to interference like Radio Frequency systems.
Higher Speed
- 20 to 40 times the speed of X-10 in terms of data transmitted.
Two Way Communications
- Hardwired, software and protol design incorporate two-way communication
in all products.
House Separation -
Multiple houses on one transformer are separated by means of a Network
Address allowing for 256 Networks on each transformer. UPB system
incorporates over 64,000 total address spaces vs. 256 for conventional
X-10.
Interaction - UPB
communication can be used in the presence of all X-10 compatible equipment
with no interference between either UPB equipment and X-10 equipment.
UPB technology uses a completely different frequency range than any of the
wide-band, narrowband, or spread spectrum technology.

The PNF-1 was designed to filter the electrical noise made by Pentair Variable Speed Swimming Pool Pump so it will not interfere with UPB or Universal Powerline Bus communication signals used in home and swimming pool automation systems.
Enables computer-based configuration and control of household lighting, appliances and other devices. Transmits and Receives UPB commands and converts them to serial RS-232C interface format.
A wire-in duplex receptacle provides ON/OFF control of 120VAC appliances and lighting up to 15A. Fits into standard J-box and connects directly to existing household wiring. Power to the top outlet is controlled by UPB commands, bottom outlet is always powered.
